Description

This review contains spoilers, click to view. We loved the first game and were excited to try the sequel and hopefully find out some back story but sadly this game just isn't like the first one. There is no story or at least none from as far as we got, and any writing is impossible and too messy to read. The puzzles are fun in theory but hard to communicate and not actually puzzles, it's mostly just based on how well you can describe something, they don't take any critical thinking. We spent over an hour trying to do the maze, it got to the point where we would get the farthest by just not speaking and guessing which isn't the point of the game. Sometimes I would watch my friend step on the button but the game wouldn't register it and start the puzzle over anyways. No matter how many times we ran through it we couldn't get it so we never got to finish the game.…Working together with a partner to overcome obstacles is a great core concept at the heart of We Were Here Too, though as a castle escape game it isn’t particularly noteworthy beyond that.Definitely an improvement from the first game. Better graphics, more good music, less buggy than We Were Here (still some bugs, though). The handwriting was admittedly a bit too messy to read, but at least there was a lot more story. The game is much longer than the first one (around 3 hours), and now has multiple endings, however the second ending isn't very rewarding. At least there is an interesting challenge to get it, though. Overall, an improvement, but still has some things to work on. Very fun.…

A bit of a disappointment after the great success that the first game was. We had fun playing it, but it ended just when we really started getting into it. It's way too short and the puzzles become a chore after you figure out what you need to do.

Some books laid out through the game try to provide some insight into the story, but the handwriting is barely readable to bother with it.
